Guest Policies

The Newark Country Club staff looks forward to being at your service! To help prepare you for your visit to the Club, please take a moment to review the following information.

Members and their guests are expected to dress appropriately for a private country club. It is not the function or desire of club management to act as arbitrators of fashion. It is the responsibility of all members to advise their families and guests of the dress code and to ensure compliance. The following is Newark Country Club’s standard of dress expected of all members, member families, and guests.

Informal casual attire is permitted in the clubhouse at all times. Golf apparel as described in the relevant section of the Membership Handbook may be worn. Gentlemen are to wear collared shirts or turtlenecks (mock turtlenecks are considered appropriate) and ladies shirts must have either sleeves or a collar. Shirts are to be tucked in unless designed to be worn otherwise. At the suggestion of the membership, jeans and denim clothing will be permitted in the clubhouse. Inappropriate clothing includes that which is torn, patched, frayed, excessively loose, baggy fitting or excessively soiled. Tank tops, sweat pants, cargo pants, cargo shorts, jean shorts, bathing suits and t-shirts are not permitted in the clubhouse.

Men and women are to remove hats and visors inside the clubhouse, women may wear accessory hats inside the clubhouse.

Private parties are subject to the clubhouse dress code.  Certain member social events require a higher level of dress (ie. Black tie, jackets for men, etc.).  Members will be notified in advance of these functions. Occasionally these requirements may be relaxed for club parties (informal themes) with advanced notice and approval by the General Manager.

As a courtesy to your members and guests, cellular telephones should not be used in Tavern, Lounge, 19th Hole or Ballroom.  Members are responsible for advising guests of this consideration.

The clubhouse will be open each day, except Mondays. The facilities of the Newark Country Club will be open during published hours set out in the monthly newsletter and published on the club website. Unless an emergency situation requires the immediate closure of a club facility, the membership will be notified, in advance, of changes in the operating hours of any of the club facilities.

Pace of play at NCC:  Members & guests are expected to complete a round in 4 hours or less.

Smoking is not permitted inside the Clubhouse. Smoking is permitted on the patio and in designated areas outside the Clubhouse.
